The Spanish unions has called for walkouts and Ryanair passengers travelling to Spain  during the first few weeks of the new year might be left stranded as a result of strikes.

After failing to reach an agreement with the budget carrier the Spanish unions USO and Sitcpla had called for walkouts on 8,10 and 13 January.

The union which represents the Ryanair staff in the country  stated that the strikes applies to Ryanair cabin crew across Spain and it will be formalized with both unions shortly.

If the better working conditions for staff were not met the union will be striking for three days in January.Europe’s biggest airlines was accused earlier for having an absurd and childish behavior for not coming to an agreement.

The tiff is on Ryanair’s practice of not employing staff on local labour contracts, however, several labour agreements has been already signed with unions across Europe.

Ryanair staff across six European countries including Netherlands had gone on a strike at the end of September which affected around 40,000 passengers.It led to the grounding of 250 flights.

The Civil Aviation Authority said Ryanair would face “enforcement action” due to refusal in payment of compensation to passengers affected by strike.

Until 21 January, the workers for private security company Eulen have extended their strike. This has been called by the union as Alternativa Sinical. At Madrid airport security delays are expected.
