In the days leading up to Christmas, the East and the Northwest will face storms having the greatest potential of disrupting travel.

Over the Southwest and portions of the Plains through Chritsmas, some of the best weather-related travel conditions are likely.

Major cities due to a combination of commuter traffic around and the beginnings of holiday travel will make this Thursday the worst day to travel for Christmas holiday this season as per the American Automobile Association (AAA).

AAA stated that a record-breaking 112.5 million will be travelling through their car to an airliner, bus and train.

During a percentage of the extended holiday the weather will cause delays and a number of flight cancellations in parts of the nation.

As the storm keeps aggravating sufficient rain is likely to fall from the storm which will aggravate the small stream and river flooding situation in the Southwest and mid-Atlantic regions. This might further lead to urban and small stream flooding in New England.

  

As the week will draw to a close the motorist should prepare for delays related to rain, fog and low-lying area.  From Thursday to Friday night a swath of heavy rain is probable to shift northward along the I-95 corridor.
