The island of Ireland was promoted by Tourism Ireland to thousands of Italian travel professionals attending the annual TTG Incontri travel fair in Rimini.

Six Irish and Italian tourism companies joined Tourism Ireland at TTG Incontri, an important B2B travel exhibition which attracted almost 73,000 visitors − including influential tour operators, travel agents and leading Italian travel journalists and bloggers − in 2017.

Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy, said: “Interest in visiting the island of Ireland remains strong among Italian travellers and our presence at TTG Incontri provides an excellent opportunity to spread the word about the many great things to see and do right around the island of Ireland and to enthuse Italian travellers about putting Ireland on their ‘wish-list’ for 2019.

“2017 was the best year ever for tourism from Italy to Ireland, when we welcomed 352,000 Italian visitors, up +5% on 2016. We are determined to ensure that this growth continues. Our presence at TTG Rimini is just one element of our extensive autumn campaign which is in full swing right now – aimed at boosting late-season travel to Ireland from Italy and at positioning us well for 2019.”
