Asia Cruise Cooperation or the ACC is emerging from strength to strength, with Korea unifying the agreement, lately. At present, it spreads across 20 ports in six different destinations like Hainan, Hong Kong, Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Xiamen, all of whom have together assimilated with strong commitment in order to make the most of cruise tourism in Asia.

 

Established by the Hong Kong Tourism Board in association with the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in 2014, ACC acts like a one-stop platform to aid cruise lines’ strategies in Asia. Main areas of its work comprise itinerary development, sharing the insights related to industry and market, improving cruise lines’ marketing initiations along with financial support, and creating consumer demand in terms of cruising.

 

At Seatrade Cruise Global 2018, the popular annual global business-to-business event in the cruise industry, ACC organized a tailor-made cocktail reception to bring up to date developments to the trade on alliance. Other than encouraging cruise lines to take in ACC member ports within their itineraries, the agreement will step up partnership by responding and reaching out to consumers in all the main source markets.

 

Some of the efforts comprise joint promotions to lure consumers in selecting cruise products like ACC member ports and a joint venture with a regional television network to lift up consumer consciousness of partnering destinations and the charm of cruise vacations.

 

To quote Mr. He Junlin, Deputy Director for Tourism Planning of the Hainan Provincial Tourism Development Commission, “ACC has continually combined the cruise resources of its member ports to promote intra-regional exchanges and cooperation, following the international cruise industry’s excellent development concept. This helps all ACC members speed up the upgrading of their own cruise tourism industry, and also greatly raises Hainan’s tourism visibility around the world.”
