Canada’s Best Ski Hotel for Fifth Year
For the fifth year running Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside has been recognized by leading ski tourism professionals, media and consumers as the best ski resort in the country. The World Ski Awards honoured the luxury lodge-style property for its outstanding amenities, personalized service and ideal proximity to world-renowned Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.
Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside fought off strong competition for Canada’s Best Ski Hotel, from big names including Four Seasons Resort & Residences Whistler, Fairmont Banff Springs and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Whistler was strongly represented in the national category with nominations going out to neighbouring properties Nita Lake Lodge, Fairmont Chateau Whistler and Whistler Blackcomb.
The World Ski Awards was established to elevate standards in the global ski tourism industry by assessing and rewarding nations, resorts and properties that are considered leaders in their respective industries. Each year, hundreds of thousands of skiers, media and travel professionals vote for their favourite ski tourism products and brands in the world’s top 25 ski tourism nations. Categories reflect a spectrum of destination ski product, such as Best Ski Resort, Best Ski Hotel, Best Ski Boutique Hotel and Best Ski Chalet. The winners were revealed during a gala weekend that, in 2017, took place between November 17 and 19 in the Kitzbühel Alps of Austria.
“It is an honour to be recognized for the fifth year running as Best Ski Hotel in Canada”, said Lloyd Daser, general manager of Pan Pacific Whistler hotels. “Winning a World Ski Award is incredibly prestigious and we are grateful to have received the majority of votes from consumers, industry professionals and media. Awards drive us to constantly improve on the products and services we offer, and it’s gratifying to see that visitors appreciate the hard work and dedication we put into our hotels.”
Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside’s sister resort is the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre, which similarly offers access to world-renowned skiing, hiking and mountain biking trails, spacious residential suites and easily accessible golf, fishing and other outdoor adventure.
