South Beach’s newest boutique hotel, The Julia, opened its doors this month and to celebrate its grand opening, is extending 15% off best available rates for any bookings made throughout August 2017 for travel through December 15, 2017.
Situated in the South of Fifth “SoFi” neighborhood, a growing enclave of restaurants and shops, the property is adults-exclusive and was built from the foundation of the third oldest hotel in Miami Beach. Located between 3rd and 4th Streets on Collins Avenue, it’s just one block from the beach.
Named after the iconic founder of Miami, Julia Tuttle, and owned by SMS Lodging, a family-owned company that operates hotels in Miami and Key West, The Julia features 29 guest rooms, each outfitted with memory-foam mattresses, custom-designed furnishings, coral and grey accent colors, solid oak plank flooring, as well as original artwork from local and international artists throughout the rooms and common areas.
The interior of the hotel, designed by Stephen Busto, boasts a charming lobby with stylishly mismatching décor inspired by ideas of what Julia Tuttle’s own living room might have looked like. Features from the building’s original design, including the authentic Cuban tile flooring and restored fireplace, complement the updated common areas, adorned with Turkish throw pillows and rugs, rocking chairs and modern art, in an eclectic combination. The Julia’s exterior has been meticulously restored in order to retain its history with a facade that traces back to its original build in the 1930s, now accentuated with outdoor patio seating.
The property offers several value-added complimentary amenities to enhance guest’s experience, including a French-inspired continental breakfast with fresh croissants, Brioche, Pain au Chocolat, yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee and tea, beach chairs reserved on the shores of South Beach, custom beach totes for guest use, wi-fi, and daily wine and cheese happy hour.
